Below are some photos from the day, they were lucky enough to be joined by their families, friends and partners for a great day. Below are some more photos that they wish to share.
Tooth brush abrasion28/7/2021 Are you guilty of brushing too hard? Loving your teeth a little too much? We see patients every day that have used a toothbrush with bristle's that are too firm, and/or a heavy hand that has worn away their teeth and gums. Whilst we can use filling material to fill in these holes, prevention is always better which is why at Courtney Dental we recommend using a soft bristled toothbrush or electric toothbrush with a toothpaste that isn't abrasion. This wear on the tooth also leads to tooth sensitivity. Electric toothbrushes can come with a sensor that lets you know when your pressing too hard.
Courtney Dental are proud Queensland Maroons supports, regardless of the outcome. If you come into the surgery during origin week, the entire practice turns a lovely shade of maroon. Unfortunately one of our team members Liza supports the blues. So she's highly unpopular during origin season. Enjoy the below photos of our team getting into the spirit.
School Holidays are the perfect time to have your children’s teeth checked. Children should have their teeth checked and cleaned just the same as adults. Every 6-12 months as recommended by their dentist, therapist or hygienist.
We have school holiday appointments available! Prevention is always better than a cure, no parent wants to see their child in pain or discomfort. Regular check ups can help avoid decay and early loss of baby teeth. If you feel your child needs instruction or help understanding the importance of brushing, flossing and diet please let our clinicians know so we can support you with this. Please call us on 4725 3366 to make an appointment Your child may be eligible for dental funding through medicare. Please ask us for more details and we can help you find out if your eligible for the CDBS medicare scheme. Dr Madisson recently treated this patient to restore some chipped anterior teeth. The top photo is where this patient started before any treatment. We then used custom made whitening trays to lighten the teeth, the patient wore them every night for 1 hour, for a week.
Once the patient and Dr Madisson were happy with the shade of the teeth, Dr Madisson then used a composite filling material to restore the chips to the anterior teeth. Shaping and polishing them to give the best natural result. The patient and Dr Madisson were both so happy with the result. If you have any questions about this procedure please call us on 07 4725 3366 Calculus removal at Courtney dental7/6/2021 This photo is of the inside surface of lower teeth in a patient Nic recently treated over 2 appointments. The right side of the photo was cleaned 1 week prior to the photo and the left was cleaned after the photo was taken. This is a great example to show of calculus removal, you can see the gums on the left is red, inflamed and when touched bleeds easily. The gum on the right has a healthier appearance, the gum is nice and pink and their is no bleeding when probed.
Jet boat chaos in Sydney3/6/2021 Another exciting adventure while Craig, Liza and Hayley were in Sydney recently was the Thunder jet boat. After spending the day learning for their 3D shape software, they jumped on the speed boat for an adrenalin hit. Not anticipating that they would emerge as drowned rats. Apparently it was freezing, and Craig screamed the loudest but they had a great time. Below are some more photos that they wanted to share.
Bridge climb Sydney2/6/2021 Whilst on their recent trip to Sydney for continuing education, Craig and Hayley took the opportunity to tackle to Sydney harbor bridge at night. Liza is petrified of heights and decided to stay at the bottom holding the handbags, to be teased forever more about. Craig and Hayley had a fantastic time on their climb and wanted to share these photos. They said it was an amazing experience and they had the best time.
Recently more than half of the staff at Courtney Dental went to Melbourne to attend the ADX dental conference to see and learn about the latest advancements in dentistry. In a few short days as well as the conference they managed to squeeze in golf, a football game, shopping trips and endless eating. Those that stayed behind to man the deck and keep the practice running are still not on speaking terms with them. Craig returned with bags of chocolate from Haigs to help soften the blow. |
